If you’re a bit weary of Chipotle’s domination of the burrito world, you’re in luck.

Enter Hot Harry’s, a Massachusetts-based burrito chain that’s opening its doors in New Britain next month.  This place seemingly has it all from breakfast burritos to jalapeno stuffed poppers.  And, yes, you get warm tortilla chips with your order.

With Chipotle suffering the worst PR fiasco in its 22 years of operation, Hot Harry’s decided that now’s the time to strike.  Owner Samir Abdallah announced in January that he’s opening 200 Hot Harry’s stores nationwide and truly believes he can replace the Chipotle-shaped hole in our hearts.

He told the Berkshire Eagle that he plans to become the “Subway of the burrito business.”   Pretty tall words for a relatively-unknown chain.

He’s in good hands though.  He’s teamed up with industry veteran, Richard Tarascio, the former vice president of Connecticut-based Wayback Burgers.

Do I think Connecticut will catch Hot Harry’s fever?  Yeah, I do.  I used to frequent the original Hot Harry’s location when I lived in Pittsfield, Mass, and I sorely miss their food.  Their El Camino breakfast burrito was absolute heaven.

I’m pretty optimistic that we’ll see more Hot Harry’s popping up soon.  There are so many scrumptious toppings you can add to your burrito/taco/quesadilla to really make it your own, plus, you get some tasty warm tortilla chips & salsa on the side.  Win win!

And, yes, there are vegetarian and vegan menu options.

So, get excited.  Soon we’ll have a new place to satisfy our burrito fix.
